~ documentary photographer, storyteller & silly goose ~

I view my work as a modern version of the "old days" - when we captured life in shaky home movies and rolls of film that showed flour on the counters, unbrushed hair, and the way we actually interacted with each other.

but to do that, we have to connect too.

Like I said, we are probably going to be best friends by the end of your session. I want to laugh, cry, play, eat, and experience this chaotic life WITH you and your family. Somewhere along the way, we started performing for the camera instead of living in front of it.

 I'M HERE TO CHANGE THAT.

I want to document the moments that are imperfect, messy, chaotic, and true to your life, so that future generations can see the loving, authentic story of where they came from. That's not going to happen in a picture-perfect home or a field of flowers at sunset where you're smiling at the camera the whole time.

Life is chaotic. It's wild, unpredictable, and perfectly imperfect, full of moments that tell the truest of stories.

At Chaotically Crisp, I don't take perfectly posed pictures;

I document the beautiful chaos of your family's story. From the intense, powerful moments of birth to the joy of a toddler's laugh. I have a passion for capturing the unseen details that tell the story of your family.

my background

Growing up, I knew I wanted to either work with children or  in the medical field. I ran through the options - teacher, pharmacist, child life specialist - but none of those felt quite like who I am.

I picked up a camera and started taking photos of my Mema's flowers and wild life in her hometown at Lake Mattamuskeet. Later down the road, I started photographing people and events at my church. That evolved into doing family sessions for friends and eventually taking on my own clientele.

During COVID, I quit my full-time job to become a nanny and began working with a friend photographing families and weddings. (See "My Experience")

my experience

2014 started my journey into photography, where I learned how to use a camera.

Then, in 2021, I joined my friend and her husband second-shooting weddings and working as the lead family photographer for the team. I worked with them for 5 years photographing lifestyle maternity, newborn, and family sessions.

After photographing that same friend's birth in 2023, I fell in love with the idea of getting to be a part of others' birthing space. Since 2023, I have been able to capture more births, as well as Fresh 48 sessions.

While I've got over 10 years of experience working with families to capture their story, I still learn something new every single day.

I married my best friend, Joyner, in May 2025.  We spend our free time studying our Bibles, playing games (card, video, & board games), watching Grey's Anatomy, listening to worship music and various podcasts, lifting weights, and exploring both National & State Parks.
