Motherhood. It's a beautiful, messy, wonderful journey, isn't it? From the quiet moments of snuggles to the joyful chaos of playtime, every stage is precious and fleeting. As a photographer, my greatest joy is capturing the authentic connections and everyday magic that unfold within families.
This year, I'm envisioning something truly special and stripped-back. We're going for a simple, timeless setup that allows your unique bond to shine through. Imagine a soft, airy space with gentle light, featuring:
✨A whimsical clothesline
✨Billowing white sheets
✨A cozy blanket
✨A rustic basket
✨Classic wooden toys for little hands
This isn't about perfectly posed smiles (unless those happen naturally!). Instead, these sessions are designed to be a documentary experience between you and your children. I want to capture the real moments: the tickles, the tender hugs, the shared laughter, the quiet cuddles, and even the sweet, playful chaos that makes your family yours.
Think of it as a beautiful pause in your busy life, a chance to simply be with your children, while I discreetly capture the genuine interactions that tell your unique motherhood story. No pressure, just pure connection.
Below you will find your session preparation guide!
I am so excited to welcome you to the Motherhood Unfolded Mini Session Event! These sessions are designed to be different from the "look at the camera and smile" routine. Instead, we’re leaning into a documentary style approach—capturing the way your toddler leans into your shoulder or the way your baby’s hand curls around your finger.
To help us get those soulful, effortless shots, here is a quick guide on how to prepare for our time together.

the vibe: simple & timeless

The set is inspired by a slow afternoon: white sheets on a clothesline, a soft blanket, a few wooden toys.
Because the backdrop is neutral and airy, I recommend keeping your wardrobe choices simple to match.
- For Mom: Think flowy fabrics, linens, or soft knits. Neutral tones (creams, tans, soft blues, or muted earth tones) work beautifully against the white sheets.
- For the Kids: Simple rompers, overalls, or even just a clean diaper cover/bloomers for the littlest ones. Avoid neon colors, black, heavy or bold patterns, or large logos, as these can distract from the "moment."
- Comfort is Key: If you feel stiff in your clothes, it will show in the photos. Pick something you can sit, crawl, and snuggle in!
Here is a Pinterest board I made for some visual inspo!

embrace the "un-posed"
During your session, I won’t be asking the kids to say "cheese." In fact, I’d love it if you didn't either!
- Follow their lead: If your child wants to hide in the sheets, we’ll play hide-and-seek. If they want to sit in the basket, we’ll let them.
- Focus on them, not me: The best shots happen when you are looking at your children, not the lens. Whisper to them, tickle them, or tell them a little secret.
- Trust the process: Even if it feels like chaos, I promise I am catching the magic in between.

what to bring
to help everyone warm-up, feel free to bring:
- A "special" heirloom toy or a well-loved stuffed animal if it helps your child feel secure.
- Easy, mess-free snacks (puffs or dried fruit) just in case a "hangry" moment strikes.
- A fresh diaper/wipe—and maybe a change of clothes for the kids, just in case!

timing
Mini-sessions move quickly, so here's a note on timing:
- We only have 20 minutes together, and the first 5 minutes are typically a "warm-up" period
- Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes before your session so you can get the kids out of their car seats and let them get used to the new environment before we start.
- If you arrive late to your session, we will only have whatever amount of time is left of your session (i.e. if your session is scheduled for 2:00-2:20, and you arrive at 2:05, we will only have 15 minutes of session time left)
after your mini session:
Your Collection & Digital Gallery:
I know how hard it is to choose favorites, so I’ve kept the process simple and flexible.
- The Base Collection: Every Motherhood Unfolded mini-session includes 15 high-resolution, professionally edited digital images of your choice.
- The Full Story: After you view your proofing gallery, if you find it impossible to narrow it down (which happens often with these candid moments!), you will have the option to:
✨Purchase additional individual files to add to your collection. ($15 per image)
✨Upgrade to the Full Gallery to keep every single memory we captured during our time together ($75 per gallery)
There is never any pressure to upgrade, but the option is there if you want the whole story.
thank you for trusting me to...
